I recently had this happen and it is devastating, also hard to find anyone with sympathy, which might be the worst part of all. For me, someone stole the story I have been working on being published (for year!) and turned it into a Webtoon. I am not really sure how to fight it since my book was still in the publication process and they beat me to the punch!
